These fibers come from Tyrolean Mountain Sheep ethically sourced from a small family owned farm in Northern Italy.
They are commercially dyed & carded in accordance with the okotex-100 standard, which makes for great color consistency when you need to reorder your favorite colors.
Wool carding, using a Drum Carder, is the process of brushing the wool with wire teeth, in this case, to separate the fibers and clean the wool to produce webs of fiber also known as a Batt. These are a slightly course, very crimpy fiber and, in my opinion, are among the best for Needle Felting as they felt down to a sculptable density the quickest making them easy to use for all your Needle Felting projects!
We do not recommend using these fibers for clothing items as they may irritate the skin. Due to the nature of the cleaning process, some vegetable matter may be left behind. Because most are commercially dyed we cannot guarantee the color fastness of any of these fibers.
